Hey there, wonderful bakers! It's Neekta here, and today I'm thrilled to share one of my all-time favorite recipes with you – my Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, and Nut-Free Apple Filling! 🍏✨

Ingredients:

  • 4 apples (peeled and chopped to any size you choose)

  • ¼ cup lemon juice

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • Splash of cinnamon

  • Pinch of nutmeg

  • ¼ cup coconut oil

  • ¼ cup water

  • 3 Tbsp arrowroot starch

Let's Get Baking:


In a skillet (off-heat at first), toss in the apples, lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Give it a good stir – we want all those flavors to combine. Now, pop it on medium-high heat, and add in that coconut oil. Watch it melt into perfection.

Let it bubble and caramelize for about 7 - 10 minutes. You'll know it's ready when those bubbles get thick and dreamy. 😍


While that deliciousness is underway, whip up a quick arrowroot slurry in a separate bowl – just mix the water and arrowroot starch. This is the secret weapon to make your filling gooey! If gooey isn't your thing, no worries, you can skip this step.

Once your apples are dancing in caramel heaven, pour in the arrowroot slurry and give it a quick mix. And voila – you're done! Can you believe it's that easy?
