~About Neekta~

Hi! My name is Neekta! Welcome to my website! I am a passionate baker and foody. My love of baking stems from my own food sensitivities. When I was only 8 years old, I came down with a severe onset of anxiety and OCD that got very bad very quickly. Lucky for me, my parents found a functional medicine doctor who helped them find out what was wrong after 9 months of tests, trials and errors. Turns out that I am (and was) highly sensitive to any food that is high in oxalate (a chemical compound found in all foods). 

This discovery saved my life, but it also meant that I could not enjoy most foods that kids love. Some of those foods include pizza, pasta, normal pastries, cookies, cakes, and more. After years of experimentation, I created recipes that serve people with gluten sensitivities, dairy sensitvities, and low-oxalate diets. My treats consist of many different options for many different people. I started my mini home-bakery business (The Sensitive Tasty Treats) during Covid, back in 2020. Since then, my love of baking has grown and blossomed into a beautiful career!
